yes, i can already tell that today is official party day. there’s some guy in the courtyard of my apartment shouting as if he’s just made a touchdown. maybe he’s responding to the cars honking at each other in this annoying and absolutely uneccesary way. ugh, now some girls are giggling and screaming about something. if i were to hate college this would be the reason why.
oh, north halsted, how i will never miss you. how i will never miss how you make me write angsty cliche’d enteries in my blog.

here is quite an interesting conversation i had with a gentleman in indiana this evening. he messaged me on icq, and i looked at his profile. it was filled with "U"s and "Y"s instead of "you"’s and "why"’s. i know, i’m not always perfect at spelling, but this is ridiculous! people these days… so lazy, so stupid. that was mean! i know!! ha ha!!
-Kind*Love- (01:02 AM) :
Sup Jodi?
jodiu (01:02 AM) :
sorry i don’t talk to people who can’t spell.
-Kind*Love- (01:03 AM) :
I can spell
-Kind*Love- (01:04 AM) :
what makes you think I can’t spell?
jodiu (01:05 AM) :
you does not equal U
-Kind*Love- (01:06 AM) :
I can’t be different unique?
jodiu (01:06 AM) :
ok, just invent a whole new language while you’re at it
-Kind*Love- (01:07 AM) :
ever heard that if everyone was the same, liek would be boring?
-Kind*Love- (01:07 AM) :
oops. life
jodiu (01:07 AM) :
god, you must be like 15. everyone thinks that when they’re that age
jodiu (01:07 AM) :
ok, good bye!
-Kind*Love- (01:08 AM) :
hey. don’t be offensive
-Kind*Love- (01:08 AM) :
I’m just talking
jodiu (01:08 AM) :
i never asked to talk to you.
jodiu (01:08 AM) :
good bye!
-Kind*Love- (01:08 AM) :
wait
-Kind*Love- (01:09 AM) :
how do you make new friends? you don’t know them right off the back
jodiu (01:09 AM) :
i have enough friends thank you. i’m not judgemental. i just don’t want to talk to you
jodiu (01:09 AM) :
judgmental, sorry
jodiu (01:09 AM) :
good bye
-Kind*Love- (01:09 AM) :
see Ur not perfect either
-Kind*Love- (01:10 AM) :
Y don’t U wanna talk to me?
I promptly told him that was enough, and put him on my ignore list! HA HA! i’m so evil. but i guess i make up for that in real life… and of course the fact that i don’t EVER do this.
god, what boredom will do to people. i haven’t chatted online since i
was 17 years old. recently i started going on ICQ and people just
randomly message you. I’ve spoken most recently with people in Russia
(Siberia) and China (Shanghai) as well as in surrounding areas. it’s
so weird! but then again, so is this blog. when will it stop being
weird?

i have a new fan base! and her name is tiffany funk. you’re so wonderful, tiffany. thank you for encouraging me to waste my time here. it’s very satisfying. will you be the president of the club? by the way, i gave your website to a kinko’s customer yesterday. she seemed intrigued by the sock zombies :) (for the other one of you reading my blog, the website is funkstart.etsy.com, and totally worth checking out). Speaking of ‘waste’, you should read chapter 3 of The Visual Culture Reader (Nicholas Mirzeoff, ed. 2002), entitled "Narrativizing Visual Culture: Towards a polycentric aesthetics" (Ella Shohat and Robert Stam). A section entitled ‘The aesthetics of garbage’:
"Garbage … becomes an ideal medium for those who themselves have been cast off and broken down; who have been ‘down in the dumps’; who feel, as the blues line had it, ‘like a tin can on that old dumping ground.’ A transformative impulse takes an object considered worthless and turns it into something of value. Here the restoration of the buring worth of a cast-off object analogizes the process of revealing the hidden worth of the despised, devalued artist himself."
…and… "As a diasporized, heterotopic site, the point of promiscuous mingling of rich and poor, center and periphery, the industrial and the artisanal, the organic and the inorganic, the national and the international, the local and the global; as a mixed, syncretic, radically decentered social text, garbage provides tan ideal postmodern and postcolonial metaphor. As a place of buried memories and traces, meanwhile, garbage exemplifies what David Harvey calls ‘time-space compression’ typical of the acceleration produced by contemporary technologies. In Foucault’s terms, garbage is ‘heterochronic’; it concentrates time in a circumscribed space. (Archaeology, it has been suggested, is simply a sophisticated form of garbology.) As time materialized in space, it is coagulated sociality, a gooey distillation of society’s contradictions."
ok, i let them to the writing for me, and now i have to work on my Anachronism paper. I’m dreading this. Not that it isn’t going to be absolutely BRILLIANT!

i swear nobody will read this blog, but reading tiffany funk’s was quite inspiring and today was a particularly boring day so that means i have to do somthing new.
fed ex kinko’s: should or should i not bitch about you here? here is rule number one: no complaining about work. except that i had some training today downtown that was really boring, and i drank fifteen cups of coffee. that’s it, that’s all. over.
i’m super structuring my life right now, i hope. calendars abound, to do lists are plenty. and this is my blog. good night. time to work. almost.
